Hi everyone, I’m currently a junior in big law working in IP and Tech Transactions. My goal is to go in house at a film studio and practice production law. I’m having trouble figuring out how I transition into this industry. Can someone share possible pathways? What salary can a second or third year transitioning to in house expect? Curious what the base and commission structure is for inside sales and associate director of sales in biotech (also anyone else who wants to share pls put industry). Paid hourly or salary? At the biotech company I work at avg inside sales is $62,632 with a $3500 per quarter cap. Commission structure is % based on sales quota reached vs capped (not a direct % of sales). I’m underpaid at $53000 with $3500 cap per quarter.

Have an offer to join a fairly new family office investment team in PE buyouts but will be a fairly significant cash pay cut vs what I was making in tech corp dev. Opinion: the major difference between a service based company and product based is the Hiring Manager. In product based interview you can get a good idea about the work you will be doing by discussing with HM. But not the case with service based where what will you do is based on what project company gets.

I have only few more weeks to my LWD. I attended interview for 5 companies all cleared, but only 1 offer in hand, which I am not satisfied with. Others never came back with salary negotiation/confirmation. They just ask the expected CTC and never get back with update. It's a painful wait and demotivating. Do they come back or am I just waiting for nothing? My expectation is not out of the box too. Please suggest?
