I have a baby coming next summer. When should I tell my managers? I’m not particularly close to them JPMorgan Chase

Why you will get fired for having a baby ?
If anything it’ll make them more likely to keep you out of fear of a lawsuit.
Interesting thought. I hadn't considered that.
I work at Chase as well and you will get 16 weeks parental leave. NO ONE is going to fire you for having a baby, if anything Chase does have a generous parental leave policy. I would advise to notify your manager during your second trimester and call Sedgwick around the third trimester.
I am curious, why would you think you are going to get fired for having a baby? That thought didn’t cross my mind the 2 times I had a baby. Are you on a PIP or WW?
It’s a tough economy right now so they may do layoffs for reasons other than having a baby.
I thought I read it differently but based on the first comment, you really did mean to say that they will fire you for having a baby? Is that even allowed? It's a form of discrimination. It's like you'll have a baby and you become incompetent.
100% not allowed. Of course, if they have to make some downsizing decisions because of the economy, it's easy for a big corp to lay someone off because of "finances" when they really don't want to pay for maternity leave.
You should tell them before your 2nd trimester. So that they can be aware about the changes in the coming months and that they can accordingly adjust. You can't be fired for that unless they want to get sued. You are going to be fine
I recommend you notify your boss about your pregnancy at the end of your first trimester (12-13 weeks). Don't worry, you won't get fired. It's against your rights.
You cannot be fired for being pregnant under most circumstances. You'll be protected under the FMLA. Pregnant women generally cannot be treated any differently from other employees who have a medical condition that affects their ability to perform their job duties.
You can’t be fired for having a baby, and definitely not in a company like JPMC. There are laws protecting you from discrimination. I would let your manager know as soon as seems reasonable but at least 5 months in advance. A lot of arrangements and paperwork needs to be completed. JPMC are a strong bank that can stand a tough economy and it’s a lot cheaper to give an employee their maternity and play by the rules than fire a pregnant employee and risk a lawsuit and bad press. Don’t be worried! I hope you have a safe and easy pregnancy, and congratulations!
I am with Chase for a long time, had two babies, always tell people around 12 weeks. So ppl can plan ahead and find someone to fill in.
I would tell them sooner than later. I was going to wait until exactly 8 weeks before my due date, but ended up laid off at 6 months pregnant. I think they would have offered more severance or maybe not chosen to lay me off had I told them sooner. I thought not telling them would work in my favor and I was wrong.
I think if you flag with enough time, you'll be fine - I don't think they can fire people over that
