I have a question about PTO and time off benefits.

The company I currently work for offers 14 PTO days for the calendar year and no separate sick time. We accrue PTO throughout the year, which means that if someone gets sick early in the year, they could be forced to take Unpaid time off because they haven’t accrued enough PTO.

Is this standard or are my benefits lacking?

I work for a CRO as a Quality Assurance Assistant; previously a Lab Biologist and have been here for 2+ years.

529 Plan VERSUS Prepaid

We live in Florida and currently have a Freshman in High School and a 16 month old. We hear from our friends and family with college bound children "I wish we would have done Florida PrePaid." After obviously ignoring this for years, we are finally trying to do it before "it's too late" for both children.
