Hi all! I’m looking to connect with folks who either work at Coinbase or have interviewed recently for the Business Operations and Strategy Manager or similar role. I am looking to schedule my first interview which I believe is a consulting style case. So any details you can provide, I am all ears. The next interview will be a presentation. Again if you have any experience/advice on this, I’m ready to listen.
Thanks in advance! Help me escape Deloitte pleaseeee. I want this job sooo much!

I’d want to know more about the development team - if the are contracted or in-house (start ups sometimes contract out dev teams)
Id also ask about how key product decisions are made.
Side note - how were you able to receive an interview for a senior product role as a consultant? Product positions (especially senior ones) typically like to see prior product experiences
Ah, makes sense. Thanks!
If it’s a tech role, I’d still want to know the responsibilities between a product manager, product owner, and project manager. Sometimes there is a blurred line in companies

I would ask what the company’s growth expectations are. You don’t want to take a job only to be laid off twelve months from now due to unexpected declines in business. Who is their competition? What differentiates them from the competition?
Similarly, how many Senior PM roles do they have? My BIL (in the real estate industry, not IT) was recently screwed over when someone hired him, milked him for nine months to get all the the knowledge/industry contacts they could, then laid him off.

Thanks, but I don’t think that changes my questions. How many senior project managers do they have? A senior PM is usually leading either complex projects or leading multiple simple projects. It they have more than one senior PM, then they likely have a pipeline of work. If you are the first, then they may be really in the early startup phases and the org might be learning how to manage more complex work.
As for the other question, it is more about the stability of the company. What is their revenue model? What about investors? What is their expectations of growth? You don’t want to join a company that is at high risk of failure.
