I have always worked in public interest law and I’m thinking of making the transition to private practice (for a firm, not hanging my own shingle). I’m interested in real estate law. Is it possible to work in private practice and still have time for my family? I have two toddlers so it’s important. I’m not looking to make a ton of money, but more than my $85k salary. Most important to me is time with my family and health insurance. Any advice on what I should look for or is it not possible?

Has anybody else experienced (what seems like) irreversible physical damage from working long hours? I worked about a month of 19 hour days 2 years ago (this was the peak of the season where I worked at least 12 hours a day) and my facial skin hasn't really recovered and the experience really aged me.

Should I leave my company? Been here 1.5 years and was told I was getting a management promotion 5-6 months ago.Still no solid traction and they are opening up a req for it 😑no one on the current sales team has ever been promoted (2 years)except our boss who has been promoted 3 times. We hit quote every month/q/year by a lot. I have several offers at double my OTE. Already asked what the timeline is for a new manager and I was told soon and I'm "up for consideration."
