Hello All,
I have recently joined FIS Global around end of April. My mother recently met with an accident and she needs to be operated.
I haven't been able to update the anything regarding the insurance part yet on FIS portal.
Will my mother's treatment be covered under the insurance? If yes, what's the procedure for the same? What are the documents that I need to submit in order to claim the amount?
Can anyone please guide?

First, make sure your product idea doesn't already exist, and that there are no patents on file (even if the product hasn't been put into production yet), and no provisional patents on file.
If all that is clear, file a provisional patent: "A provisional patent application (PPA) establishes an early filing date for an invention, providing a temporary, low-cost way for inventors to claim "patent pending" status for up to 12 months while they further develop the idea, test the market, or seek funding before committing to a more expensive, formal non-provisional patent application. It doesn't get examined or issue as a patent itself but serves as a placeholder, allowing the later non-provisional application to claim the original filing date, crucial in the first-to-file patent system."
I've had two provisional patents. I knew both of my products had interest from consumers, but they needed legal oversight. One needed approval from the FDA. The other from my city attorney's office. Both hit a brick wall at that point.
Ensuring that your product has an interested market of consumers is just the start. It's the legal aspects that can shut your plans down. Most products have legal oversight, from toy safety to food safety, if you plan to mass-produce, especially to sell in stores. You also have to consider whether your product will be sold in your country alone or worldwide, which is a more complicated process.

Thanks! Yeah I’m nervous about the safety side because everything with kids can become a safety hazard.
Patent it?
DONT PATENT IT / start it while you work at a consulting firm!
Maybe try speaking to a patent attorney first. If you are seeking funding to actually commercialize the product, you can go to VCs and have them sign some paperwork (a patent attorney that also deals with venture capital could advise on what’s appropriate). Those VCs could help vet the idea then (without stealing it). Also some incubators could be good to approach with your idea.
Another thing is to speak with someone who knows about product design. Put an NDA in place. If it’s not a product, you may not be able to patent. Also, ask chatGPT how to get started. Give a general description but don’t give ChatGPT your idea. It will set you up with a path to follow to push your idea forward. Ideas are only as good as execution (and then marketing). You could start with a prompt such as “I have an idea for a product that helps parents with X pain point. I would like to know how to go about seeing if a similar product exists or is patented Also what steps I can take to make a prototype.” You may be able to 3D print your idea and go from there. A lot of libraries have 3D printers now.
PS feel free to reach out to me. I have just gone through the whole process of starting a business and can help with some areas.
