ATS filtering in Qatar is honestly brutal, especially for technical fields - I've felt it firsthand. Including a photo and tons of docs can sometimes actually hurt your chances because ATS bots mostly scan for keywords and structured formats. When I swapped out my old CV and focused only on work history, training, and keywords (left out photos/certificates), suddenly recruiters started replying.
Definitely switch to an ATS-friendly format. Make sure your job descriptions are tailored with keywords from each posting and keep design as simple as possible - no tables, graphics, or colors. I realized, after talking with a friend in HR, that most companies' systems straight up skip anything too fancy or unfamiliar.
If you want, run your CV through one of those ATS checkers like ResumeJudge, Resume Worded, or Jobscan, so you can see exactly what might be missing. It’s surprising how just changing phrasing or adding a skill can bump your match rate.
Curious - did you ever try tweaking your job titles or summaries to match the job ads? That small change sometimes makes a difference for engineering roles in my experience.
