How much of your gig is spent interviewing candidates? I feel like that’s a solid 30% of my role these days.

I got “verbal” offer from PWC for senior associate/ salesforce developer role. Of course I am not trusting with all my heart but how much should I trust at this point? Does PWC normally extend the offer or are they just telling this to bunch of people and choose in between?

Im in the final round of interviews at VMware and news came on Monday that they are being acquired by Broadcom. Is this something that I should be concerned about? I know layoffs can happen after a merger/acquisition but there’s not much overlap between the two companies (chipmaker vs cloud infrastructure). Late night thoughts - I cannot figure out when to throw in the towel on consulting. I just switched to a Big 4 role two weeks ago and I feel like my stress has shot up significantly. I hate traveling for work and I want a role with good WLB. I know two weeks is nothing and I feel like a failure for giving up so easily but I feel I'm just not made out for this kind of life. Should I just suck it up and stick it out for two more years for the exit opps?
