Meta technical solutions consultant interview prep - can someone let me know if they have gone through the technical rounds for Technical Solutions Consultant role? Can you share what to prepare for since it’s not a data science type of role so most likely not hard level MySQL questions. Any specific types of queries that I should learn? Thanks!

Finally found THE one, after over a year of searching and trying out at least 5 different ones!
A nice comfortable office chair.

My criteria: mesh seat and back, arms, headrest
I tried cheap ones from Amazon. Expensive, second hand gaming chairs. Tried HM Aeron (second hand) and while I didn't like the bulk and the general design, I was sold on the mesh seating. I wanted to get the ErgoChair 2 from autonomous, but it doesn't have mesh seat.

These are fairly softball questions that shouldn't put them in a spot - they're also very much questions that show the boss - subordinate dynamic and that you are aware of it. Depending on how transparently they answer it you'll get a sense of who they are.
Frankly it's a done deal, your input is not going to matter, you need to start on a great foot with them from the day of the interview - everyone says yes and you say no they'll still hire them and someone will gossip about you saying no. Everyone says no you say yes they won't be hired again it won't natter. What will matter is how you navigate them
Specifically (stolen from elsewhere): Thinking of the most successful person you ever hired, what made them successful? Tells you a lot about their priorities and attitude towards work-life balance, etc. Meant to be asked when you're the interviewee, but makes sense for anyone you'd report to.
how would they describe their managerial style?
If this is your new boss, don’t come off as a weakling
Ask behavioral questions around their leadership experience and mentoring. For example, start with “tell me about your most challenging leadership experience” and probe there. Also you can ask “in your past how have you juggled between leading a team, mentoring each individual, and doing your day to day job” and prove based on the answer. You’ll learn a lot about how they operate. Make sure they give you concrete examples and not fluff.
Why not take the position of the person you are interviewing and find a replacement for ur current position? Bhammm problem solved
It is tricky because I want to ask tough questions to see if they can handle the work pressure and perform the job. Most importantly I want to make sure that they could be a good mentor to me and we would get along. It is just tough because if they are hired this is also going to be their first impression of me. Should I just lob softball personality behavioral questions?
Kill em - they’ll like you for it if they get the job
I had the same experience before. I’d recommend really focusing on cases that stresses him out to see if he can be stay chill - the dude I interviewed who ended up becoming my boss couldn’t handle the stress ended up being a dick
Describe a time that you felt the need to go outside the chain of command to report an issue. What were the outcomes / repercussions? Their answer will tell you a lot about their own management style.
Rising Star
This isn’t a guaranteed scenario though. I’ve never had to do this
