Practicing tax lawyer - my first LSAT without studying was a 140. Signed up for the Kaplan LSAT in person class and got a 155, took another Kaplan class and raised it to 163. In person classes worked for me but your results may vary.
The Powerscore Bibles are great; I really improved my score (from 160 to 175) with Testmasters classes and they have tutors too.
But real talk - 132 after studying is significantly lower than where you should be and indicative of some serious issues you are unlikely to overcome. Unless you have a way to go to law school debt free or would still be happy making very little with a ton of debt, I’d rethink going to law school.
Omg Attorney 3 is a miserable person. You can do anything you set your mind to!!
Quit studying.....relax and trust the process.
The logic games section is apparently no longer part of the test…
Do a bunch or practice exams and when you go through the answers on questions you got wrong, try to understand both why the right answer is correct and why each wrong answer is wrong.
If you’re going do patent prosecution, while physics will make you eligible for the patent bar, having more EE experience will make you more marketable. That’s true for patent litigation as well, but to a lesser degree.
I would add to this — start by doing the practice sections un-timed and focus on getting them right. Give yourself time to think through the problems. Then as you get more confident, add time back in
Is LSAT Trainer still a thing? Mike Kim came in clutch back in the day.
I didn’t realize someone had commented this. This was the only book I used as I had limited time to study and it was so helpful.
Do free practice tests on Khan Academy and look at explanations on 7Sage. Those two did the most to boost my score
7sage is so clutch. I adore their videos. Worth every penny I paid. Their analytics tools were also super helpful to make my studying more efficient. I worked full time while studying so being able to focus on improving very specific question types and skipping the ones I had down cold was key to raising my score over 6 months or so.
Drill questions all day for like 6 months. You’ll master question patterns / types intuitively which is necessary for speed.
In the immortal words of Judge Smails: The world needs ditch diggers too.
And yes tutoring may be helpful. Find any in your area, should have gotten a score north of 165
I stated with a 143 and ended with a 164 after a year of part time studying and tutoring.
What materials are you studying with? I used the LSAT Trainer by Mike Kim (along with the practice tests books) and it was a game changer. So my first advice is for you to start using the LSAT trainer and consider taking classes too as others have mentioned.
Not sure what LawHub is but break the test up. Read the LR/LG/RC bibles and drill the respective questions after you get done with a section on how to think through those questions. Once you’re comfortable with the test, start taking full practice exams every week, and up to two times a week leading up to your actual exam date.
I would focus on either the lsat or the patent bar - one at a time. If you focus on the lsat then work on improving your score then apply and start studying for the patent bar if you want to then while waiting to hear back from schools. Or else focus on the patent bar then patent agent and/or try to work as an examiner or otherwise in the field and then study for the lsat
Skip the ones that you’re stuck on and then play eany meany miny moe. I passed but I didn’t go to an Ivy or anywhere near that so be warned about my advice 🤣🥱
If there’s one section you can control. It’s the logic games. If you’re not getting most of them correct in a practice test, then you don’t understand it. Keep doing those until you get a 100%.
They removed those
