6th year Plaintiffs’ med-mal/PI associate here, talked to a recruiter who thinks I’d be a good candidate for an opening at a defense-side firm that’s looking for an associate. The salary range was double what I’m making! Are there any pitfalls of going from plaintiff to defense I should be mindful of?

I like the job/ people/ company I’m with, but I ended up taking an interview and getting an offer for 40% salary increase, similar role. I would truly only be leaving for the money. We’re not struggling but this would make a big difference over a few years. Yes I plan to ask current employer to see what they can do but they won’t be able to come close… is only for the money the wrong reason to leave?
