Background checks I think are mostly legal and social media background check.
If your references are good you should be good. If you got fired from your old job (and didn’t mention this in your interview or made it seem like you didn’t) that’s not always a deal breaker as your old shop won’t go out of their way to disclose that unless they are asking people they know and not just relying on a third party company to do the background check.
At a more junior level I wouldn’t sweat it.

On #1 - confirming your job title and tenure is all the info they can legally obtain from a former employer. Only a profoundly reckless employer would risk a lawsuit over something so petty.

If your client is a financial or tech brand they’re also most likely running a credit report check as well.
They do this to gauge the likelihood of employees selling inside information to competitors… the thought being that those with crushing debt are more easily “turned by the dark side.”
One of the clients is software.. And my credit isn’t horrible. It’s pretty average (Mid 600s). In your experience, Is that something that they will rescind without speaking to me first? Or will they give me a chance to speak on it?
