I just can’t multitask. So basically I’m behind time on all that I get asked to do. Idk how some of you will listen to a call while working in the background. Looks like I’m in the wrong job lol

Most people aren't as good at multitasking as they think they are. Better to just do sprints of heavy focused work and take out tasks one at a time imo

like

This, or organize your tasks by due date and urgency (of course on a spreadsheet), and just do pieces of each, prioritizing larger amounts of time for those things with the closest due dates

People who are working on something on a call are not actively engaged on the call, multi-tasking is a myth. Your brain can only focus, truly focus on one task at a time. Focus on completing things instead of trying to do multiple things at once. The quality of your work will greatly increase

like

I suck at multitasking and can't read for long periods of time without getting distracted. I have never multitask in any of my jobs . I just make sure to organize my assignments, so I can focus on each one at a time and make sure to finish them on time. That part that kills me is the getting distracted when doing the same task for a long period of time.

I’m terrible at it. Just do your best.

Ive accepted an offer going from a SM role to M role at EY in the CCas team , London office. Can anyone confirm how often one needs to come into the office, as my commute is from Hampshire . So i have been fortunate that i have managed to go through my career without the need for a degree. I was lucky enough to have been hired by one of the worlds top consulting firms, worked with a whole lot of big clients and travelled a lot. It's gotten to the point where I am not even asked about the lack of a degree on my resume. Personally though, it bothers me. I have a whole bunch of certifications in my industry…but just no formal degree. (cont'd)

Anyone go from SaaS / licensing sales to services (strategy & implementation) sales?

I'm thinking of moving from large cap tech to large cap consultancy firm to help build the resume and round out my experience. I enjoy and do well in licensing, but I'm fairly young in my career (<6 years) and received a great offer to make the move.

Big fan of the org and team I'll be joining as well.

Thanks!!

Current student looking for advice. I interned at RBC Wealth Management last summer and currently have 2 offers for summer 2023 that require a decision next week: 1 for BASF (chemical manufacturing) and 1 for Peraton (defense technology); I am also waiting to hear back from SMBC (S&T), Point72, Lord Abbett, Boeing, and Shell. I hope to break into banking next summer, and I’m interested in the Natural Resources, Industrials, and Real Estate industry groups. Any advice on what to do? Thanks!

Received an offer for equity research and IB, both in toronto. ER paying $120k base and my understanding is that bonus can be around 25-30%. IB is paying $105k base but likely higher bonus? Which one would u choose if you think you would be good at both

Interesting all the noise about these PPT, my take:

The pandemic took all the upside of an IB analyst life (client meetings in person, fancy trips, suit up, worshiped at networking events) and left all the juniors with the downside (long hours, monkey-like type of job, aggressive work environment).

Not that the complaints are not sort of legitimate but you may need to revise the decision-making process that led you to accept a return offer. Specially if you were looking for less hours.
