I keep seeing people saying they were "completely blind sided" by the PwC layoffs. Really? No one saw this coming? I'm surprised the number wasn't larger, to be honest.

Wow good for you! I bet those 1,500 people feel so much better knowing that you saw it coming and thought it would impact more than just them!

First time PwC had done lay offs in 25 years

funnylike

PwC have been doing stealth layoff’s through PIPs for the last few years.

Good to know

I think what those people meant is that they thought they were not the ones who were going to get cut. I have read about people who said they were in line for promotion this year but even they got cut. But I'm pretty sure everybody knew that the layoffs were coming.

I believe that was the result of over hiring during pandemic. I spoke to a manager and they informed me only people at staff level were let go because of availability and not enough work to distribute among staffs. I see the same issue within Deloitte as well.

like

Not true. Seniors and managers were fired as well.

This is so true! I went to work 4/28/25, had been there for an hour. The company owner called me into his office, the spineless department manager was also in attendance. I was told that my position had been eliminated and given a “Settlement and Separation Agreement “. No final check and if the agreement was signed the money would be in my accounting 21 days. Looks like jobs only want you if you are in the company clique.

Our team wasn’t expecting a layoff at EY. Many are impacted

I was laid off from my accountant Position on 5/7. It wasn't a surprise to me since she runs her business so poorly. Wondering why nobody was paying her. I did alot of the hard work and she would show up late and leave at 230 pm everyday so she could pick up her kids. Her business obviously didn't matter as much to her since it's now going under.

Experts are saying there will be an unemployment recession by the need of the year, so stiff like this is expected
