I know it’s impossible to predict the future but it seems like we are closing in on the end of this hiring cycle with higher wages for everyone. Makes me think leaving now for a higher salary is the move instead of holding out and leaving in a year or two

Ever think leaving your current company to a new one leaves you open to being one of the first to let go should a recession happen?

likefunny

Lol calling it bootlicking, okay. Super aggressive response there. I’m just saying bull market creates a lot of hiring and competitiveness for employees like you got. But, well, we aren’t in the same market atm. At the end I’m just saying greeding for some extra cash might put someone at the front of that next company for layoffs if it occurred because of aforementioned reasons above. OP is a director, not some senior that’s in demand and cheap like you, no offense. And that’s highly probable in the current environment considering recessionary pressures.

No need to name call. I’m just trying to be rational and offer thoughts to someone asking for it. You can save your keyboard warriors self for your workplace :)

I feel as though PA/consulting is the safest area to be in during a recession. Firms are always profitable and nobodies going to lay off someone who directly produces revenue in a perpetually understaffed environment.

Is it more worth it to go into FDD at a regional firm now, or hope that my current big 4 will transfer me come spring 2021?

I'm kind of in the mindset of only doing FDD at big 4, otherwise I'll go straight to industry. Am I being too down on mid-market FDD experience and the related exit ops?

Also, I can't go the route of doing FDD at a different big 4. Already got rejected by all of them cause I'm not in audit (but have CPA).

Hi, I am currently working at Bisleri in a quality control role with 6 YOE. My current CTC is very low (4 LPA) and I have not found any motivation or growth in my role since COVID. I'd like to be in the design industry (Graphic Design or UI UI Design). Currently I am freelancing in my spare time. My question to Design professionals is: how feasible will the switch be? Will I be accepted as an intern/junior designer in my early 30s?
