Why do people believe they have to "announce" everything that happens in their private lives? I have not updated my LinkedIn profile in 4 years even though I have changed jobs since . I do see a lot of "nosey" people checking it every now and then. Good for them. Keep things private.
Tax Senior 1 I'm with you on this. I have not updated my profile in 6 years. A lot of nosey people keep checking. I get the "recruiters can't find you". I'm good. I've dealt with enough recruiters to know many of them are a waste of time. When the time is right, I'll connect with the right person with the right position that aligns with my career trajectory. That's my take on LinkedIn.
It happened to my coworker and made me even more careful with career move. The grass isn’t greener on the other side. Great that you got promotion. I would keep it private.
Keep it private
For that short of a turnaround I would keep it private.
I can’t believe people are boomeranging RSM !! Which team?
Keep it private
Depending on the LOB this may be different but you’ve already used your one strike. I wouldn’t remind anyone of that with a post
I would figure which one is more beneficial to you. Do you think telling your network would do anything for you? For me, I don’t really see anything, and if you didn’t tell them you moved in the first place, no real reason to have to say anything for it to be back at the same place.
If you want people dm’ing you about the job change, or wondering why xyz job didn’t work out for you, then by all means notify your network.

Different strokes for different folks. I like to keep things private.
honestly I think it’s super dependent on the reasons you left in the first place. I left RSM because I didn’t see a career path for me at the time and I came back 4 months later with a promo. I moved to a different group so I wasn’t working with the same network but I didn’t hesitate for one minute to be transparent about my promo. I wouldn’t say I broadcasted it but it was known based on the work I was doing. You shouldn’t hesitate either because it’s something to be proud of but it’s in the manner in which you handle it that’s important. LinkedIn is the least I would worry about vs how you talk about it with people when it comes up. Being humble and proud is achievable.
What was the other firm?
HR will know since it's in the system. Why not use your network to get back in.
I don't understand keeping your goal secret if you want help to accomplish it.
PWC1 totally failed this analysis 😂😂😂
Unless you did something significant in those 4 months that you want to include on your resume, you don’t need to put it on your LinkedIn.
I have the same situation with the author. Should mention the short experience on my resume when applying a new job? Asking for suggestions. Thanks!
Some of us we are cruising nicesly there by AGSA work life balance garlo and it only hectic when we are at MFMA and for two month
Keep it secret!! Refer me in audit dept, dude😂😂
I haven’t updated my LinkedIn for quite some time now. Actually haven’t even looked at it in over 5 years. Way too much “spam”. I connect with other professionals through FB groups and other online forums.
Keep it quite , don't bother updating your Linkedin
Be grateful you have a job. There are a lot of us who do not and have been searching a long time. Keep your success is to yourself. Bragging is never good.
Never say all your moves. Recruiters troll LinkedIn for people still in their 90 probation to see if they can oust them with "someone more satisfactory" after they pry at nauseam about their performance. Some use prior knowledge even to snipe individuals that may have not worked out for them at one time or another.
