How is the wlb in Amex?
I tend to overwork myself and it’s really taking a toll on my mental well-being. I want to learn a lot and prove myself to my superiors so that they recognize me/see value. Now my work has a sense of dread to it. I watched my parents be workaholics growing up, so it’s all I know. I’m also goal-oriented and driven, so achieving a lot scratches that itch for me. But, it’s making me want to quit cause I’m burned out and depressed….im not sure what to do. Any suggestions would be helpful.

I have 2 offers, one from JPMC ( LOB IS Consumer and Community Banking) and the other from Wells Fargo. Both are giving similar roles, and exactly same pay. Location is Hyderabad. I tried for revision of pay but it didn't work.
Could anyone help me understand which one is better to join in terms of hikes, technology used and work life balance. I have to join on Tuesday, 16 Aug.

Distance is always supposed to be checked while hiring, in your case was it discussed at the time of hiring ? Nevertheless have a candid talk with your Manager and tell that you are working from home post reaching, if there are any deliverables that get delayed due to your transit time, you may have to start looking at an alternative like work from home or another role, in your case both parties have a genuine concern, try to talk it out and have a win- win situation

So I need to make assumptions? Read again.. I live far from my house.. you could gauge.. what is the consultants problem? Is it that there is a gap in the associate’s work- then that is a very valid problem AC sir.. may you get the OP as associate so that the eod that’s supposed to come at 7 comes at 8:30 because you are the one who has to review it.. I understand the problem is genuine but it needs to be discussed clearly.. I am a consultant who has to review it after the AC- imagine my plight receiving your output at 9:30 because your A sent it at 8:30.. then you complaint Cs don’t do anything..

Yeah.. You rightly said.. Try to have a candid conversation with him, although it might look like he is not very open right now for conversation. Think about what could be a possible problem and go to him with some sort of proposal such that he is able to guide you through. And if it about something else, then have a candid conversation such that you both are able to pally up and really try to understand what is bothering him. But go with a mindset you might not be able to get that time of 5 to 7. Or you can try going by cabs such that you are able to work during that time or stay in company accomodation here for days when there is urgent work. However the problem is manageable. So don't worry. All the best
