I live in LA. I’m currently interviewing at McKinsey for a role offered in multiple cities outside of LA. It’s totally worth it to pack my stuff and make the move if I land this... but is there any chance that they would provide an option to stay in LA even if they don’t have an office here?

Do you guys see ppl moving from a product strategy roles to product manager roles? I’m getting dinged in interviews because I haven’t seen a product through end to end implementation, I primarily work on the early stages and then hand off. I’ve been trying to shadow and volunteer on implementation side...any other tips? Background is 2.5 years in product strategy, 2 years corporate strategy, 3 years in marketing.

To put it bluntly, I know certain people with less experience and a lower performance rating are getting paid more than me due to my role working with payroll data. I interviewed for an internal opportunity a couple weeks ago (Engineer w/ 4 YOE to Product Manager role). There were a few other internal candidates, and I have not heard anything since the interview other than "we are still waiting on approval on some things from the president, but he has been out on vacation, say hang tight." That was last Monday and have not heard anything since then. Should I assume that I did not get the position? What is the typical turnaround time for internal ops?

After 2 years of a pandemic and working independently for many years, I am not feeling interviews AT ALL. There are points in the interview where I want to just say "Look! Either hire me or don't".

How can I get over this feeling? I'm over the whole "stand in the line of fire to prove how good I am" bs. Any recommendations for getting over this or possible industries to pivot into to avoid bs interview processes and ghosting?

I was told to apply to a hospital job by someone interested in interviewing me. The recruiter reached out. Asked for my availability but then didn’t respond when I gave her my availability. I followed up. We scheduled a phone call (she said she’d call) and then she didn’t call! At this point, I’m thinking they’re totally disorganized. Is this common practice? 27 y/o manager and having what feels like a quarter life crisis. The consulting grind feels unsustainable for me long term, but I don’t know what else I would even want to do. Have new analyst on the team with an MBA and project experience. After working with them for 2 months it’s apparent that there are 0 consulting skills (excel, outlook, PowerPoint) and they freeze up even on internal calls. They are young and coachable, and I offered to put time into that. However at a company event they made no effort to get to know the team and chose to stick to their familiar colleagues in their home office. I’d like to ask for a new resource but interested in feedback.

Idk if it’s the COVID or if it’s just how some of y’all minds are set up, but the level of delusion from the posts I’ve been reading since this has all begun has kept me going 😭😂.
