I know this feeling 100%, and I'm sorry you're experiencing it, too. You have to do what's best for you, but if you have regulars who tip well and make your workday just a little easier, I would probably stay and learn to ignore the management issues (as long as it's not a full-blown toxic work environment, of course). Unfortunately, I think some workplaces are just this way and have zero clue about the value we bring.

Sounds like you're doing the job of three people and getting the thanks of none. If you love the work but not the treatment, it might be time to find a place that actually values hustle and heart. Have you checked with any of your regulars? You never know who’s got a lead or owns the bistro down the street.

I'm sorry, no one should feel like they're being walked all over at work. It sounds like you need to get out of there pronto. Are you looking to stay in the industry? Or are you thinking about branching out into something else entirely?

I sympathize with your situation, there are some places that will just take people for granted and treat them badly, no matter how good a job they do. It's not a great time to be looking for work, so you should probably hang on to the job you've got. But get serious about finding something better. Brainstorm about places in your area where you might want to work and try to get a job with them. Be confident and things will work out for you!

Search for an area you’d be willing to work, look for restaurants in that area you like the vibe of, walk in and see if they are hiring. I feel like the in person effort makes a huge difference. Go see what’s out there!

Sounds to me like it is definitely time to find something new. If I were you I would call palces that are local to you to see if they are hiring. Server jobs are often hiring but they don't do a great job advertising that they are hiring. Best of luck to you in the job search.

Remember you keep shining working hard but dont over due it. Don't expect much from managers hardworking with beeming personalities are at times seen as a threat sorry to say these days even more so. Rge competition is high. be your own best advocate , stay true to yourself values hard work . God sees everything. Hos love ❤️ and blessings shall be your reward. Lord loves diligent hands. So what if others dont see it. The universe does. . O e last note let's not try to understand why others act or do what they do or think how they think. Stay respectful. Only work on yourself if others dont get you oh well. Don't ever do the messed up things people do to one another In work places in order to survive. Be good

Problem-solving strategies should be the trusty sidekick, swooping inwhen needed. Personally, I’m not thrilled when pressure’s got you down; I’m only content when you’ve given it your all. And hey, when life gives you downtime use it to recharge Strengths? Efficiency, communication, and enthusiasm. Weaknesses? Pressure-handling and problem-solving—but Who's perfect, right?

Anyone have a good online calculator or way to adjust their W-4 towards the end of the year so they don’t get slammed with a high tax bill? I know I’m too late for 2020, but curious for next year...I got slapped with a 6-figure tax bill last year. 😑 My wife and I made adjustments to our 2020 W-4s, but afraid it wasn’t enough.

Long time in the making; but we finally sold off from our 50% HWB short. We had two tests at the 3400 level, getting as high as 3420 today before the sell off. Momentum and pessimism over lack of stimulus could take us to the 3107 target quickly, nearly a 10 percent decline over the next month. Stay short my friends. It's going to get bumpy.

I work as an AGM in a busy restaurant. Been working there for just over a year, and haven't had a single raise. I now only make 0.50 cents more than even the lowest paid shift lead but I am doing a lot more work. I'm no longer satisfied with these conditions. Should I try to negotiate a raise or look for other opportunities?

If I should negotiate, any tips?

Check the overtime laws for your state!!

I just recently worked 58.6 hours in a week, weekly pay, nice OT profit right? Depends on where you live.

In Iowa, there is no Overtime pay mandate, the overtime pay is at the discretion of the business. I received 58.6 hours of base pay for the week.

If the company makes less than $1 million per year or does not engage in intercontinental sales, the company is not required to pay the overtime rate of time and a half, just your base rate.

Coustmer comes in and then ends up leaving with a grossed out look on his face just for him to put in a complaint about my appearance...he down right called me some nasty things for no reason. So I work as an assistant manager at a restaurant for the past 9 months. I've worked in restaurants for the past 6 years science I was 16. Now I'm 22. I went to a trade school for media and film. I got a dream opportunity to work in the field making about the same or 10% more. I told myself the only reason I'd leave this company is for this type of job. Should I take the chance at this job and leave the restaurant that is on the rise and growing?
