I might be very lucky that I didn’t join Google before the summer as I’m not stressed about potential layoffs… but on the other hand i do feel unlucky to finally fulfill my dream and make it through the recruitment process, only to get stuck in the team-matching stage. And then the freeze.. how long can people stay on the list until they get hired? Or does your place on the list ever expire?Google

Self preservation. They don’t want to lose their cushy paper pushing job to a CRM.
I agree. My company recently hired a 3rd party who did a culture survey. 40 percent responded, and of that 40 percent, 60 percent felt they were undervalued by the company and the company did not offer any path to advancement. But they celebrated the 40 percent response and ignored the 60 percent.... Smh.
Yep
I’ve worked at some of those places… I haven’t been on the consulting side, but feel bad for the consultants. I worked for a company that couldn’t spare the cash to give raises for 4 years, then brought in expensive consultants you can guess what that did for morale and motivation. Smh.
Just talk to leadership about it (in a tactful way). Peoples interest aren’t always aligned for many reasons.
It's sorta hard when you're dumped on a contract and left to molder with minimal contact outside of submitting time sheets and the company doesn't do reviews or pay increases at all and the only growth they offer is a conference if you kick and scream then sign a contract you'll stay for 18 months minimum after said event... I'm just a little bitter. I like my client but I'm really resentful of my company and I want to leave but I don't want to leave my client in the lurch.
This is why I stopped consulting. It's like, did you just want to pay people to ignore them?
