I m having an offer from big4 for less CTC and from another Tier 3 company for more CTC. And I m thinking of joining tier 3 company and change after 6 months. Because most of the companies will offer CTC based on previous CTC. If I settle for less CTC in a big company probably I may be lowballed during my next switch. Please Help me to decide on this

What’s a fair expectation for my first raise? Publicly traded co with ~2500 employees. I’ve been doing litigation with the company for almost 3 yrs and have only had a 2% cost of living raise so far. Graduated in 2014. Base comp is $127.5k in the Philly area. I see salaries all over the place in this site and it’s hard to tell whether mine is competitive.

What do you think is an appropriate base salary for someone with 12 years various marketing and IR experience across the alternatives industry and 2 years PE/VC fundraising experience? Looking in the broader NYC metro area.

Say you have an offer for Senior Test Engineer and SDET (not senior).
Compensation is same. Both the companies are good.

Given the narrowing boundaries between testing and dev, which position is better in the long run? I thought it'd be SDET.
But, I'd like to have expert/experienced opinion.
