I got an email from a recruiter from PayPal about a position I didn’t apply for. How do I know that? Because on workday you can see all the jobs I applied for. I applied for one position in the company but got reply for another position I am not interested in. The recruiter wants to set up a phone interview? How would you react? Because I would love working there, but not in this position,
Would you say something during the phone call or before?

Hi all, recently in touch by Spotify recruiter for a Sec Engineer position for remote EU and was told that range was 60-80 out of base salary and equity. Had 2 years of security experience out of my 4 years. Was also told that there is no bonus scheme or no sign in bonus 😕 Not sure how I feel about this tbh.
What do you think?

As you already know the tech job market is abysmal, and being out of work for 2 years only compounds the difficulty of getting hired again, so the likelihood of finding a tech job within the next month is extremely slim. Personally I would forget about tech and explore other types of jobs. There's no shame in stocking shelves at Home Depot. Maybe someday when the market picks up you can re-boot your tech career but for now you need to focus on a steady paycheck.
I appreciate, I have looked at those options but unfortunately I moved to Charlotte and everything here is saturated.
I decided to work at a tire shop, learn the business and pitch ideas to a few friends if they might be willing to invest and I can start a mobile shop.
If you have time take supply chain manager certification...... it's in high demand because of data centers
Spending money on additional certifications/education when the money is about to run out is not the best idea.
SSE1 had the best advice of finding any paying work to get a paycheck to cover bills and you can always keep looking for tech jobs and switch when the time is right.

I can totally relate. Im almost at the one year mark and have a family and mortgage to consider too.
Targeting related roles hasn't worked out, as it just means I am competing with different crowd that's been doing that job for years.
If I didnt have a family and mortgage to worry about, I'd go work in the mines, oil rigs or even join the military...
If you can: Move out of the U.S. The United States is dying.
