I noticed that a lot of monthly airbnb in San Francisco are even cheaper than renting a place and signing a lease. Why would anyone not airbnb for a year?

Do you not have to pay those months in advance? Never done a monthly airbnb rental, but if you’re trying to reserve it for a year, I’d think they want the full year rent in advance?

Very good point. Living out of a suitcase does get old after a while, especially if you also travel for work. Plus my understanding (as a non-accountant) is you have to have a permanent residence somewhere for tax purposes, and you have to be there at least half the year, but I could be wrong about that

Hi everyone, I’m an architectural designer (from Europe) with 1.5 yrs experience. I’m working for a practice in San Francisco, full-time from the office, getting 25 an hour. It is so expensive to live here, I am struggling to make things work. Is this a normal salary for someone of my experience or should I ask for a raise? I don’t want to be greedy but it’s so expensive out here… Thank you 🌈

Pros:

- fairly decent place to work (from someone who worked with the Vancouver and San Jose offices). never met a blue badger (permanent employee) who had awful things to say.

- Ashley Goodall (their SVP, Methods & Intelligence) co-authored a brilliant book on leadership and people management called “Nine Lies About Work” that makes me believe they can be an awesome place to work

Cons:

- red badgers had low morale since they’re contract workers and can be terminated at any time

Less of a question, more of a request... stop asking your junior BIPOC strats to work on BLM briefs because they are the only voice of color on your team. In a time where we need support grappling with our very REAL realities and how it impacts how we show up in the agency, the LAST thing we need is an “opportunity” to express our “unique POV” on a diversity brief (that we won’t even get to speak to none the less). Imagine having to chanbel your trauma into a deck to sell in an idea to clients?

Hi everyone,

I am moving to London on Monday from another country.

I was just informed the earlier accommodation I made got messed up, I can't even begin to explain.

Can anyone please recommend a relatively cheap accommodation to me in London?.

Thank you so much.

Question about inclusion…. I’ve been teaching inclusion for 5 years so I’m still a newb, but a first year coworker of mine said she got points off on her observation because her kids were scattered in the classroom and she was having to move from kid to kid to assist. While I see the point of putting them together for convenience, I don’t agree with this at all! To me this is like singling them out by putting them all together instead of INCLUDED amongst peers. What do y’all think?
