Coach
Cheated in what way? I feel like some people think AI is cheating, I think it’s just smart!
Same thing I hear from ex-colleagues, they get frustrated because some people think they can just generate a 4000 lines PR and submit it without context and checks and you end up having to look out for hidden traps because AI can be really convincing, but go horribly wrong.
I’ve seen plenty of candidates “cheating” in interviews, which I’m okay with if it’s just referencing syntax. Actually, I encourage googling (or chatGPT) for that. But once, a candidate paused 3-4 minutes before starting a coding question, then it was obvious they were writing a solution off a paper. When I asked them to explain, they had no clue. Seriously, why do people think this works? As a recruiter, it makes it hard to give them a chance. I’d much respect a simple “I don’t know".
