I recently interviewed for a salesforcedev(L5) role. I felt i have done decent in the loop and was confident, however, i got the feedback from recruiter that the team was inclined to hire me but for a L4 not l5 and they put me in recycle for other teams to pick. Is this common?
Does this mean, there is a possibility for other teams to hire me for a l5 position? Or would they hire me only on l4 based on feedback. I feel l4 would be a downgrade but tc might be better. YOE 8yr current TC -170k

Amazons excessive interviews are an awful candidate experience. Why do they think this will help them win top talent in this competitive environment? Especially with their public cultural issues…? Lots of great paying companies without having to take a day off from work to interview! It’s overkill

Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of data/numbers to use I just have a lot of anecdotal evidence.

Went through multi-day loop for L5 SA and felt confident in my interactions. Presentation went well with no lack of answers for follow up questions. Just found out 6 days later I will not be receiving an offer, and it is policy to not provide feedback of gaps or reasons behind no offer. Also found out they ask you not to reapply for 1 to 2 years for same role. Would anyone recommend an alternate path for feedback on interview (outside of recruiter) and is the 1-2 year policy true?
