Hi Sharks, Off topic question. How long does HSBC take to schedule psychometric test. I attended managerial round on 10th aug and person who referred me confirmed that I cleared managerial round. I recently joined IBM and waiting for the project. In April I applied for an position but no test or interview was scheduled and recruiter asked me to give other email id as my application was already present in HSBC portal. You feel lost because you don't know what is a good next step, or because you know the steps but are overwhelmed when executing?
It's a bit surprising that you miss deadlines but can't point to the overall why. What part of the process do you struggle with? The business understanding? Scoping? Data slicing & dicing? Tooling?
And where is the documentation? If there's insufficient data gov/catalog/lineage you're gonna keep struggling until you get familiar with the data. Find someone else with a similar role in the company. Do they also struggle? Some companies allow a few people to become information gatekeepers instead of investing in proper data management.
Lastly, it's a very different skill set than your previous role, you need more deep focus which can take a lot of discipline to achieve. I did the opposite switch.
Well not enough info to help. What are you struggling with? Can you focus on mastering single task first? Have you had 1:1s with your manager?
But you’ve been doing this for 4 months only? You probably have already noticed some progress compared to the first month?
It does sound like the work allocation and mng is the issue not that you wouldn’t be able to take on tasks.
Hmm, interesting point about trial and error, because when I work with BI I am focusing on the tables first and visuals and dax come naturally afterwards and always dependant on what lies beneath.
Disclaimer - my job is not related to Power BI. Sooo perhaps someone more skilled can chip in. :)
