I started my own practice (89 days in) and it’s going well except for the fact that I barely want to do legal work. I just want to be the owner and office manager of my own firm, maybe even have a partner or two, earn a small salary, and pay a talented team to do the legal work.

Can I just vent on how annoyed I am with the increase in “priority boarding” of people that are able bodied? I am happy to let them on first. But I think they should get off last. So many times they are limping or in a wheelchair boarding. And then when we land that are the first to jump up and scurry off. Just not ethical.

Does anyone know how litigation finance works on the plaintiff side? If someone wanted to bring a lawsuit against their former employer would a general contingency arrangement with a plaintiff’s firm make sense? Or would one need to find funding and then contact a plaintiff’s firm to actually handle the case? I’m a transactional lawyer, so this is out of my wheelhouse.

I’ve felt seriously burned out at my firm for a long time, and now during this point in the year I’ve reached a new level of struggle in terms of trying to be productive.
