There can be a loyalty tax if you stick around. You can wind up being taken for granted, and a new arrival comes in as the new hero. Companies typically pay new hires more, it's a way of attracting talent. The only solution is to get serious about moving on.
Just the way she goes unfortunately. Loyalty is a fault after 2 years these days. Now you gain more responsibility but it comes with trust and a level of security you don’t get as a new hire.
I feel like I can leave and get a new job of course but in this market with so much up and down, I fear I would just be lined up to get let go if there was an acquisition or reduction. Staying put for now I feel like I have some security given the reputation I’ve build over the last several years.

Unless you are in management or above, your pay will never be truly market value. I hate that companies have no loyalty for tenure employees.
I think it is also BS when people say they were good negotiators which is why they are paid more. Apparently pay bands are made of elastic and gender, race, age, pedigree still carry weight on how much you are worth to a company.
