I took a job about a year ago and before accepting was told if I do well I will get promoted around the year mark. Now they’re telling me I need to apply for the job and they’re opening of up to people below me as well. This would be a newly formed leadership position. I’ve only heard positive things about my performance but am shocked at the same time. Is this normal? Not sure if someone complained about me coming in at this level or if this is an HR/compliance CYA thing. Any thoughts?

I mean, I think this is pretty standard. Them telling you that you will get promoted is not the same thing as guaranteeing a promotion. Maybe they didn't word it very well, but I think it's pretty standard to have to apply to a job opening and state your case for why you're the best candidate. I don't think it's a personal thing, I think it's a pretty normal.

Hi fishies,

I am a digital marketing professional with 4 years of experience. I was really frustrated in my current job due to extreme level of micro management and no growth career wise, so I have resigned on 3rd October. Tomorrow, after a meeting with ceo I will get to know how many days of NP I have to serve.
It would be really helpful if I could get referral from you guys.

I am ready to take remote jobs & even relocate to Bangalore or Pune.

Thank you!

If 2+ people submit a referral on your behalf at their company for a position you recently applied for, does it make you stand out even more/increase your chances of getting an interview vs. just 1?

Just started a new Data Analyst position in which I have constant meetings with senior leadership and executives. I have a bad habit of giving too much background info and not getting straight to the point. I just feel like every little detail is important (even though that’s not always the case). Any tips for breaking this habit or just become more efficient with advising?

Interviewed for Meta exactly 2 weeks ago today. Contacted the recruiter last Tuesday and they said they were waiting to hear back from the hiring manager to discuss the interview results. Anyone that interviewed or gotten a job with Meta how did it take from the onsite to get your decision? Since I had to reach out to the recruiter and haven't heard anything since I assume they're interested in another candidate.

Guys, I interviewed at amex gurgaon 10days ago and was told by VP that I will hear from HR very soon. But when I checked on HR yesterday, she said interviews are still in progress and it will take a week more to finalize.
I want to know do they take this long to close a position? This opening was posted on 30th Sep.. It's already been 1.5 months. This is when they said the position was urgent!! 🙄

“Bad news, we’ve had to eliminate the position that we were supposed to finalize your promotion to. Good news, your current position is still available and the prestige of your current role is now increased”
Not the money, not the title, bonus or anything, but oh the prestige.

I’m an accounting advisory M2 in Los Angeles and hoping to find a position around $150k in industry. However a recruiter said that’s too high and I should be looking more around $130-140k, I can’t tell though if she’s being honest or just hoping I’ll take a smaller salary so that she can get an easier commission. Thoughts?

In talks with A&M to come over to their TAG practice from EY FDD as senior associate. Base salary is very competitive on top of the alluring "bonus" structure. 2 questions:

1. Do they normally offer sign on bonuses?
2. Is their any disadvantage between A&M FDD compared to B4 FDD in terms of exit ops down the road? Trying to look 5 years down the line

Would appreciate any insight!

I am leaving retail pharmacy after 15 years. I am opening a 403b pharmacy for a FQHC. I don't believe that retail pharmacy will be able to sustain itself with patient costs skyrocketing. How many times do we see people getting free prescriptions via government coverage that drive better cars than we do?
