I am expecting a counter offer with the same DOJ, but i wont be rejecting the current company i am joining, unless I see the offer from the countering org. One way would be to work with a third party recruiter.
Don’t make up a title because that could backfire.
From what I've understood, you SHOULD update your title to match what you are doing. Don't change the level, but add descriptors. For example my title was QA Manager.....I added in parenthesis something like this (Batch release and product life cycle management). Used so people can identify what realm of QA work done. QA is broad.
Everyone wants to find work that exceeds their current capabilities; no applicant wants to be backwards.You should think about it again .
