I use to work in a PA for 1.5 year but left on bad terms (I was bullied, worked long hours, couldn’t understand the office politics, finally I had a burn out, my doctor put me on leave & I resigned for my mental health). I’ve been looking for a job for months now & I can’t find anything. The company worked for has alumnis in so many companies, I’m sure the alumnis in the companies I interview for will definately ask people from my old PA firm. Please, What are my chances of ever finding a job?

The benefit of PA is that there are thousands of people there. It’s very hard for people who never worked with you to find out why you exited the firm esp when at a staff level.

Therefore I don’t think you’re blacklisted and I do think you’ll find a job. This market is just brutal.

Separately, How is your resume? Are you using external recruiters ? Do you get interviews or are you not even getting interviews? I ask these questions to determine how best to advice you in order to enhance your job search. Good luck!

Thank you so much for your reply, I’ve updated my resume and had it reviewed by a friend who works
in HR. I’m using recruitment agencies and I’m also applying on my side. I’ve had 3 interviews (2 controller roles and 1 in forensic) after applying to 113 job offers. For the controller roles they wanted someone more senior and with more experience and the forensic role they felt I didn’t have enough on hand technical accounting exprience so at home I’ve been reviewing my accounting classes from uni and also doing the exercises.

But thank you for giving me a bit more insight on the market. The reason I decided to go the accounting route was because of the security. I’m also willing to take a salary cut.

Fish who have been feds,

I have been stuck deciding between two offers (both in IC, but one is more program analysis -similar to consulting work but on the fed side, and actual analysis).

The program analysis offer is at a higher GS level and a more well known agency, but is not what I’m interested in.

Does anyone have any advice on how to make a decision? Go with what I want to do, or go with the more well known agency and higher gs?

So I have two jobs I’m in the running for at the same company. Position A offered basically the same comp that I’m making now, and I’m still waiting on the results for Position B. Would you guys ever take a job at the pursuit of trying to switch internally in the company?

It’s always been a company that I’ve wanted to work at but making the same that I’m making now is what is stopping me

Hi all- My SO is currently at a Big4 & was initially preparing for S&O roles at GCP but given the high number of ex MBB consultants hired, they believe its just more competition to get the offer & to eventually get promoted over time.

Instead, they have decided to pursue program manager or cloud consultant roles, which they feel might have a lower barrier to entry from an assessment standpoint. Not sure if the bowl agrees but would like to get your thoughts, thanks!

Assuming the following holds tomorrow, I expect we will get a call of AZ around 11:15am ET, and NV and PA around 12:15pm ET.

AZ: next batch of Maricopa ballots 55% or less for Trump
NV: Biden wins >60% of next batch of ballots in Clark County
PA: Biden extends lead beyond 35K ballots

My intuition is that the networks want to call all three to provide extra margin for error given the stakes and fine margins.

So I've had 2 hiring managers and several recruiters from Amazon reach out to me about applying for some open positions with the company (android). I completed the coding assessment and now they want me to go through a round of 5 hour interviews next week. Is there a good chance I'll be hired if engineering managers are reaching out to me? I'm really not sure how badly I want to work for them and I don't want to be laid off months after being hired on. Anyone know what Amazon hiring is like?
