Hi fishes,
Any guess how many people are laid off from Publicis sapient in past few days? Really scared for my future as I'm also under probation period and deeply regret for my choice of joining this firm...I don't understand why were they recruiting peeps when they were short of projects. Publicis Sapient

Loool. If you choose to stay, they will fire you in a few months. Doesn’t make sense to tell an adult who has gotten an opportunity paying 100k more “don’t take that opportunity. If you want more money, stay here and work harder.” Why do you need to stay and work harder if you’ve already achieved what they want you to stay behind to achieve. I am sure you already thanked them for helping with your bar discipline issue. That’s what you owe them - gratitude, which you have already expressed. You can go a step further and buy them a thank you card on your way out. Unless of-course you signed something in exchange for their assistance which says you’d stay. If you didn’t, take your new job and be on your merry way out. Congratulations on the additional 100k!
This. 👆🏼Agreed.
Why on earth would you stay? You don’t owe them - it was in their interest to help you with the bar discipline issue as well. What happens if you stay and don’t earn more and they say you just didn’t work hard enough? Don’t be foolish.

Came here to say exactly this.
If you go there will be trouble. If you stay it will be double.

How is this a question. The fact that they would even try to get you to stay and then guilt trip you to do it means you should run as fast as you can to the new gig.

You don’t owe them anything. You give them hours of your life, they give you money. It’s strictly a business relationship.
The only employers who try to convince you otherwise, are the ones taking advantage of you.
Never go backwards.
Sooo what was the discipline issue?
Helping you with the discipline issue also served their own interests in keeping you employable by them.
This can’t be real. Beg to work harder for $100K less? Take the new job.

Go to the new opportunity
Just take the offer. Sometimes it really is that simple.
Doubt you are the first or will even be the last attorney to ever have an issue before the Bar. Don’t let them guilt you into staying.
