I was on a call today with a Director who is new to our team but not new to the company, and he was chewing tobacco and spitting -- on camera!! That's not OK, right? Right?

Smokeless tobacco products are not illegal in the US the last time I checked. Some companies do have company policies or No tobacco zones. But since this was a video call you would need to speak to your supervisor or consult your intranet posted policies do determine if those would be applicable.

That said, if you found it offensive and the call was just with yourself, you could have offered to reschedule your meeting at another time or asked that cameras be off until he is finished (much like one would do if the call was interrupting a lunch or break). But in the absence of any supporting policies, I would likely not bring it up.

Well, the last time someone accidentally vaped on camera they were let go, and I think of them all the same (smoking, vaping, chewing) But chew isn't really a thing here, and definitely not in the health care crowd.

I don't know if it would violate any policies at the company I work for. Depending on the region some areas it's probably common.

currently tossing up between staying at a global company (who is in the process of some positive changes) with an amazing manager who supports my career and flexible working … however comes with the inherit issues that come with a long standing global company

compared with a role at a smaller mga, higher salary (around 30%) more , more visibility career wise and some great employee benefits , management seem to be supportive and low staff turnover

which would you choose here

In my organization, most with my role are commission based. I make a set salary due to the firm I work for as an account manager/ coordinator for clients… I coordinate their enrollments, working with each groups HR department as to benefits and payroll purposes, and schedule our benefit counselors accordingly.
