Although Amazon has instituted a hiring freeze and layoffs are probably on their way, I went through the loop for a security engineer position at AWS. Before I attended the final interviews, Amazon placed the hiring freeze and called me to ask if I wanted to go ahead or cancel my application. I decided do go ahead Right now I'm waiting for their response and the position I applied to changed from "under consideration" to "no longer under consideration". Thoughts?
Does anyone have experience interviewing with Deloitte Internal Services? I had my final interview a week and a half ago, and received positive feedback throughout. The hiring manager had positive things to say and mentioned they hoped to make a decision by the end of last week. It’s now Friday the week after. The role still shows as “Interviews in Process.” We did discuss potential start dates, but no salary. Any experience with receiving offers for an internal services role? Is this common?

It’s OK that means there’s something better for you! The hiring process is a bit “shady” here too. It’s usually “who” you know and not “what” you know. Don’t worry, just keep interviewing, when the right job for you comes along - God will help to open that open. 🙏🏽
I am giving myself until the end of July to apply to jobs I want or like. After that, I am going to apply to anything I might remotely be qualified for. I am also going to apply to VIPKids, GoGoLid, Magic Ears, and anything else similar along with local virtual school programs.

I wouldn’t think it would matter what time slot you picked it’s about fitting your schedule.
I always send an email for my thank you note, with everything going on I wouldn’t think hand written would be a good idea right now and it isn’t very timely.
Don’t overthink it; you took the slot you were most comfortable with. Point blank PERIOD. Good Luck! A thank you, in whatever form, after the interview is always appreciated, but there’s something special about that hand written note 🙂

I think it makes you look enthusiastic, which is good! Then all other interviewees will be compared to you, which will make you more talked about, again, good! And YES to the thank you note! I’ve heard that has been the deciding factor in some cases. The best of luck to you!!

First or final time slot is best! Send an email thank you because they will probably have their minds made up by the end of the day.

First, congratulations! Now, set the bar high and dare anyone to meet it. I would email a thank toward the end of the day and include something like like, “After reflecting on our conversation, I am excited...” blah, blah, blah. I say that because it shows that you reviewed what was said and are ready to go. I think interviewers like to know that you aren’t just desperately grabbing at any job, but that you’ve given it thought and you like what you heard.
Of course, who knows? I’ve been through what I thought were slam-dunk interviews and gotten the ol’ “thanks but no thanks.” 😁
I tend to believe that if you’re a strong candidate and good fit for the school you’ll stand out and be remembered no matter your slot 🤷🏼♀️
GO FORTH AND SHINE!!! I have hired the first interview many times. Be prepared, be punctual, show why you are the best candidate, most importantly you are interviewing them just as well!! Yes, you want a job, but you need to be in a great place!

I thought you might need a laugh after this experience...

Good! I’m so glad you enjoyed them!! 😊
I thought they were pretty funny myself. 🤣
Here’s one more: this actually happened to my husband years ago... a girl in her twenties listed her personal email on her resume, which is good procedure, but no lie... her email was hotsexymamma@yahoo.com
She was not hired.
No! Good for you. Make a good first impression and make everyone that follows you meet the bar you set.
No it sounds like you are confident know what you want and are an expert in your field😁
Didn’t matter. Educate yourself about their structure, curriculum, vision statement and insurance benefits because if you Don’t do Distant Learning you’ll need them!!!
Show them “you’re” the right one for the job! If possible have someone role-play the interview. They will usually ask you... tell me about yourself - be ready! Practice, go on their school site, etc. You’ll do great!!!😊
Thanks for the advice everyone. I got a letter in the mail today (my interview was on Monday) that they went with candidate that more closely met their needs. They had interview slots available next week along with Monday when I interviewed. 🤔. I guess they could have had only 2-3 people apply (non-teaching position), but I also think that they may have had someone in mind for the position, at least that is what I am telling myself so I feel better about the rejection letter 🤷🏼♀️.
You have sooooo many options!
