Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.

State your accomplishments and what you can bring…. You don’t have to take it if they don’t comply
If they don’t comply find another role with 20% increase , I did it. I went from 18k month in 2014 to 85k in 2024 just by fabricating my cv and doing online courses which pertained to the role
Do you WANT the offer if it feels low? If it’s unlivable, you have to risk it to ask.
Do research, find examples, highlight why you’re worth it — and/or ask when you can expect an evaluation for a raise if you accept.
Don’t settle for less than you deserve, it’s very important to come in strong, ratings and other metrics play a big role in future gains, coming in low already sets you up for the bare minimum
If it’s the best that they can do but someone else can offer you better then you have exceeded them and need to move on it’s that simple, if your best exceeds their best you are better and deserve better.
