Interviews are a two way street. They should give you the opportunity to ask questions at the end where you could inquire "I've read about some security issues with (product), can you tell me how you are remediating those?"
I see nothing wrong with asking that in a neutral manner, especially if it's a publicized thing. If it's less recent, ask in a "how did you address it" manner instead (past tense implying they have already responded and giving you an idea how they react to issues of that nature). The key is to be looking at how they plan / react and not accusatory / judgmental about it.
