It doesn't sound like they'll ever let you make a difference if they are as bad as you say. Keep looking and exit when you can.
Yup! It’s actually worse than I’ve shared. Planning my exit.
You won’t be able to make a difference by yourself, you’ll need to gather likeminded people, but it seems like those boomers are ready for a retirement soon 🫢
I wish you luck in your journey🤍 the job market is tough right now🥲 but I believe there will be much better opportunities for you out there.
It’s better to leave a toxic environment than having your mental health and well being compromised, life is short make it count.
Its hopeless.
Sorry. I know you have somehow built a sense of responsibility for these folks who have been confiding in you. But fact of the matter is you’re fighting an uphill battle against ingrained biases. People don’t change unless they see they need it.

I tried to make changes at my last agency. The ECD was overworking everyone and constantly changing his mind. When I brought this up, my partner and I were fired. Sometimes you just have to move on and watch them burn
Do we work for the same company?! EXACT same thing happened to me. Looking as well. I, too, am wondering if it is possible to recover and be in meetings again. I have gone to HR to ask advice, and they seemed to have said something, so that is not even an option anymore.
Sorry to hear this / hoping you find a new opportunity soon.
Old boys club is a stubborn problem. They don’t want to be helped, and don’t want you to fix anything. They enjoy toxic power dynamics to get things done or avoid doing things.
The only way to force change is with money. The best way to do that is to move your talent to a better spot, and spread the word. If talent doesn’t work there it impacts multiple revenue streams. If nobody wants to work there it affects labour and churn and all revenue roads lead back to labour.
Get better for yourself
