Any tips on how to get along with a coworker?
This is gross.

Step 1: schedule a 1/1 with your manager
Step 2: communicate your workload concerns with your manager and communicate that you'd like to work together to establish a plan to set boundaries so you can keep working on this account (if that's what you want to do)
Step 3: ask your manager for help communicating with the project team
Step 4: if this doesn't work, ask your manager for help finding a different account, and revisit this plan to set boundaries on the new account
Samsung?
I honestly would start looking for something before having a conversation with your manager. Unfortunately, we don’t know how he/she is going to react. I know it’s sad, but it’s for your career safety.
Samsung
Something similar happened to me once. I accepted what I thought was a M-F 9-5 job. A few months in and some weekends crept in. Before I know it, I’m working Wednesday-Sunday night shift. For two years. I finally realized that the “you’ll be off weekends soon” promises were never going to happen, and I had been swindled.
This was my first job out of college, and I still have PTSD. Never again.
Not Samsung...Walmart 🤦🏻♀️
If you don’t set boundaries for yourself, you’ll keep getting taken advantage of and that’s not right. You’ve been the good employee and put your time and hard work in. You’ve proved yourself enough. It’s sad that weekend work = proving yourself in this industry.
You definitely deserve better. We all do, quite frankly. But weekend work - every weekend - is bullsh*t.
The agency won’t care (and HR works to protect the agency and their interests). Especially if it’s a blue chip cash cow, which Walmart is.
Management already knows. Calling it to their attention will only alert them to your inevitable resignation. Just start looking elsewhere on the DL and hopefully get out. Good luck, OP

The words “not sustainable” seem to scare them
@Designer1 – Sounds familiar. Also happened to me in my first job out of school. Great life lesson.
@Analyst 1: Yes! Great life lesson, but oofta, it’s a tough realization when you realize you’ve been taken advantage of. Gave two years of my life to a company who saw me as a number 👎🏻
Btw: Yes. I talked to my managers and HR many times. It was always “one more month,” or “we are working on hiring someone.”
You are filling the need they have by working weekends. If you aren’t willing to work weekends, you won’t fill their need anymore. Time for a new job!
@OP - Publicis?
You don’t. U update your resume and get TFO. U think management + HR can change the client? Nope. U gotta split
Next time your CD/PM/producer asks you to do something, ask them to help you prioritize with your other deadlines. If they can’t, ask if anyone else can pitch in. They surely know you work weekends, but this way they can help you problem-solve
