The court of public opinion needs a mediator 😩
Hi Fishes, Sometime back I was interviewed for Technical Support Job role in my domain. T1 went well. T2, in my understanding was better only (not great like T1 but not blunder. I felt it was nice and i replied majority of questions). They released the feedback after 10 days with "Not Positive". I am not totally sure with feedback as I replied majority of questions correct. I am being bit curious with "Microsoft" tag. What can be the reason?
Discussion appreciated.

No, that doesn't sound like something I'd want to subject myself to. Traveling and attending the onsite thing make for very long days. How much could anyone get out of that? It would be exhausting. Whoever is planning the logistics of that needs to reconsider, to be honest.

I gave that same feedback. They are trying to save money on hotel rooms.
What does it entail and would mileage be reimbursed.
Rising Star
Yes travel would be covered
Honestly, no. If it’s not required and you honestly don’t feel it in your gut to go, I wouldn’t go.
Rising Star
They haven’t specifically said it is required - they just asked for a headcount of who can go.
I would go and take control of my travel itinerary as long as I’m there on time. If it’s a nice place to visit would you want to extend your stay?
Rising Star
Extension would be at my expense and I would rather not be away from my family.
If you were hired as full remote then no. They are breaking the offer letter by doing that which is a legal document.
Rising Star
They changed the terms of remote work a year or so ago. So anyone hired as fully remote is now expected to attend onsites a few times a year but I have been able to get out of them so far.
Ok
I know a lot about medical feel
Honestly, what would be the purpose? Doesn’t sound productive, economical or convenient.
Rising Star
My concerns exactly!
It sounds like a lot of work to me in regards to travel time and wouldn't it be more productive to do a Zoom meeting instead and by groups . 12 hours total travel time to me is ridiculous.
Absolutely!
This sounds very interesting yes i would be good with this
NO
How can they change the terms of remote work after you've already signed your contract?
Rising Star
Update - they cancelled because they realized how unreasonable this was!
that sounds like a lot of traveling in a 12 hour period. I would probably not go. Is it mandatory?
