Hey anyone has advice on fixed income execution trader in a buy side firm? Sizable firm, good team, very low pay, okay wlb, been here for a year and working for 4 years in total, was sales/ small firm analyst before. Though trading is fun, but can’t think of executing orders for another 10 years. Trying to get on track of fixed income analyst - am doing some research in my spare time for my team now. Do you ever regret pursuing the life of a soldier?

Take victories and defeats as equals! Nothing will teach young soldiers more than making mistakes in the heat of battle that almost cost you your life. If you're still breathing, there's something to learn. Listen to it.

In the heat of combat, there's no second to waste. I've never felt more focused in my life than when I'm holding a rifle, it is like the rest of the world disappears, and it's just me and the instinct to survive.

If you had to choose between the army and the navy, which one would you choose and why?

How different are the physical requirements for men vs women? I'm thinking of the Navy specifically but would welcome insights from any branch of the military, thanks

I feel like this was my destiny, like being part of the military was written for me. Does anyone else feel the same?

My advice: Concentrate on yourself above anything else, follow orders but also know how those orders affect you, serve your country but never forget you are serving yourself first. The objective is not to die honorably but to survive dutifully. What else would you add?

There is a certain air of respect you get when you become a military professional. As long as you earn that respect, of course. But I like it, it feels good!

Many movies romanticize the sacrifice of one soldier and leave them as a hero, but I have always thought that I hate that. Why would someone need to lose his life to be a hero? I believe the mere fact that we put our life at risk in service is enough to be a hero

Why aren't there any vegan options in the military besides a salad? I wish there was a way to improve this. I find myself having to settle on vegetarianism when serving.
