PSA: With tax season is around the corner I just wanted to share that CashApp (Square) allows you to e-file individual Federal return and 1 state return for free (with NO income limit), and the best part is it supports ALL essential forms for stocks like 1099s and Sch D (gain loss on stock including crypto). $97K.
Salary wise, kind of depends on which type of company you get into. Generally larger ones will offer much better compensation, but expectations can be a lot higher too. Again, every place can be different, I’ve found private to be a lot more stable in terms of WLB and hours.
I just left as (S2) in Texas. I got a lot of low ball offers in the 80s but I finally got one in the 90s with a good bonus and benefits. It’s definitely hard to get a large increase. Also a place may offer you $100 K but will have like 2 weeks of PTO.
I wouldn't think the work life balance or the way would be much higher than what you are making to be honest with you.
