Tell them the new role resonates more with your career aspiration.
OP - you are thinking too much. Everyone knows people switch for growth and/or money. Tell them you foresee a better future aspect at the new firm compared to the current one.
The opportunity was not the right cultural fit for me at this time in my life. I’ve realized I’m looking for xyz (what the other company has or whatever you need to say to get the job). But be ready for the “how do you know this company will be the right fit”
Better opportunity, more in line with the career trajectory you want to pursue and that you see yourself at this company. Don’t mention it being about pay or a bigger company.
Yeah i see. But if im recruiting for the same rule then how I should present it as a ‘better fit’
You liked the way the new company introduced your work responsibilities, team members, leadership and culture. You felt you would thrive better and grow faster in that environment vs your current one (which was plagued with hierarchy, micromanagement, over structuring, etc)
I agree Amazon 1 but it’s ok to compare. Maybe plagued is too strong a phrase to use here but it’s fine to say “In comparison…..”
Do speak positively about new company
Do not speak negatively about former company
Current economic situation or claim your current role is a contract and the contract is coming to an end
