In an attempt to be healthier, I built a permanent standing desk. Now, once every couple hours my Apple Watch reminds me “it’s time to stand up” and I feel superior to all those chair sitters out there.

Just landed a full time gig, looking to get some furniture so I’m not working on my parents’ kitchen table during this remote period. Any recommendations for desks and chairs? I’m hoping to find something that’s easy to assemble and break down for when I need to move, and something that won’t cost an arm and a leg.

I know everyone has a different kind of setup that works for them. I currently have a laptop, drawing pad, second monitor, and a desk riser.

Joining Deloitte in 2weeks. What Deloitte send laptop, do they send extra monitor, keyboard and mouse? Or does it need to be purchased using $1000 productivity subsidy? And do we need to use Amex card to purchase and then reimburse?

I always want to accept first bid and get uncomfortable when my bosses push to undercut rates (especially now when money is tight), because there is a whole history of BIPOC and non-male people getting paid less. My mother in law got scammed by a con artist from the UK online and lost $7K (damn you Facebook!)

Her status in the US is currently complicated and she doesn’t have a green card(tho she’s working on it), my wife(her daughter) is American.

I want to report this to the FBI’s elder fraud department but I don’t want to complicate her situation even more.

Does anyone know if criminal stuff like this and immigration related things are separated?
