Are there mid day networking events? An extroverted friend in a new-to-them remote role has recently realized they miss people though they like the work & employer. Any suggested mid day networking events or other ideas?

What’s the best way to ask if a job can be remote or at the very least hybrid? I live outside of a pretty major city, but I don’t want to have to commute every day. My current agency allows me to work remote, and I love the flexibility. But, I feel like it’s time to look elsewhere.

My professional life at the moment is far from ideal. I’ve been on quarantine (long story, but a good one) for the last seven years. Royalties from my books don’t pay the bills. My entrepreneurial pursuits remain hampered. For the interim, I’ve been looking for a remote opportunity where I can leverage my skills in marketing, sales, social media, and elsewhere for a decent sum. I have a social media presence which, in recent years, reached millions. There has to be something exciting I can do.

Anyone here with upcoming joining to EY? Any update or change to the start date given the mandatory WFH situation?

Have any agencies begun offering WFH perks, like an internet stipend? I know it was common for WFH jobs before the pandemic, but I haven't seen any "in-person agencies" pivot yet. Thoughts?

My firm recently announced that they were beginning a reservation system for hoteling starting February of 2022 for offices . We were told to clear out our offices by December 31,2022 . The lease is not up for renewal until June 2024 at which point they will look to reduce their office space due to a hybrid work model . My issue is what incentive do I have to make a reservation to go to an office when I can simply continue work from home hassle free. Any Thoughts and comments?

I hold an offer of 18LPA from KPMG with joining date of 7th September. (Wfh)
I applied at Workday on 15th May and went through 7 technical rounds of interview and received a verbal offer letter of 21LPA (hybrid)
Now apparently their technical panel "forgot" about the interview and wants to have a discussion again as 8th technical interview. HR says their joining date will be 19th September.

Want to negotiate a raise for the coming year. For reference, 1YOE at my biglaw firm, $47k + overtime, litigation. Some things happened in my personal life, firm agreed to let me go FT remote. I am a skilled nursing facility biller and collector for Medicare & Insurance, my job can absolutely be remote but the company I work for refuses to allow employees to work remotely. I’ve been with this company for 10 years and am looking elsewhere to find the same position but remote so I can move out of state. Noticing that other companies don’t pay billers well, making me feel stuck. This job is a lot harder than people realize and feeling like I already don’t get paid enough. Any advice?
