McKinsey & Company Has any industry experienced candidates pivot to MBB Engagement Manager before? My roommate works at FAANG as Senior Analyst (Ops, 6+ YOE) and was approached by McKinsey & Company recruiter for an EM role. He hasn’t done consulting before. Would this be too much of a risk? His goal is to pivot to PE S&O eventually.

Dude besides no travel benefits, nothing changes
Are you trying to convey that our current WFH consulting life is going to become the new norm
If not chumming with your client - relationships will be harder to build especially new ones and hence new business will be much harder.

Demand will continue to decrease because senior leaders won’t take on massive transformations with a distributed workforce. Clients will also find their people have far more capacity since they’re not hiding in cubicles looking busy - so expect more projects to be done internally.

Ultimately every client will try to save cost since business will not be so great and internal staff will be given more work to do since they have wfh option and job security issues also will become common
