if you could have a very mundane work superpower, what would it be? mine would be instantly opening the folder i want to save/open a file in. must have spent at least 6 human lifetimes clicking through folders.

Piggybacking off your idea (like a true type B), no wait time on opening excel files and no wait time on saving them

Mine would be being able to automate virtually all of my work and just coast all week.

Maybe that’s more of a true superpower and not that mundane

Yeah but then there are SMs, MDs, and Partners

You can open files like that using the command line lol.
I usually open the terminal and do up arrow key + enter if I’ve opened things before

Timesheets. Able to keep track of my work and quickly do them on time.

I have just recently accepted a position as Director of Compliance at a Fin-Tech company here in Naples, FL.. My previous 17 YOE were strictly in the Financial industry. Does anyone know what the average salary is for this position? I have a sinking feeling that I accepted the role too quickly without comparing salaries. The position only pays $50k/year. That seems low to me.

I am in search of a Project Manager role. I have about 4 + years experience managing projects and in consulting.

I am based in Canada and a remote role will be great.

I anticipate your responses and recommendations thank you very much.

I’m working in a large fund; market neutral public market strategy funds; am about to be recommended for a promotion to associate. However, an analyst position just opened up internally in Credit, which is where I aspire to be for the next ten years. More growth and more intellectual challenge. I’m conflicted about applying for a lateral transfer and losing out on a promotion. Will I be missing out a promotion or should I negotiate a promotion as part of my application to this role ?

Hi there,

Just joined S&C from 8 YOE in industry. Joined as M1, but was also a manager in former industry role. How soon is reasonable to be thinking about promotion Senior Manager? What kind of salary increase comes with this promotion?

Also, I negotiated current salary when the offer came 5 months ago now, not taking into account high increases in inflation. Do salaries get adjusted for inflation? And if so, when?

My questions are is it typical to have 1 person doing both the billing and denials within a new vertical for all ins.? How difficult is billing for dme as I only have experience in gyn onc and lactation billing? What's a fair salary? I have 8+ yoe in rcm, no certs.

Hey all - 2 years in consulting so far as a fairly "type b" personality - relaxed, uncompetitive, enjoy socializing with my colleagues. To be clear, this is not the same as being lazy or irresponsible - I am diligent and do my work well.

Nonetheless I think we can generally say finance/professional services etc. reward "type a" habitudes on its face.

Thought it could be fun/funny/supportive to share experiences as the chiller brains in these anxiety-fueled fields.
