I’m type A-, Type A when it comes to work/school but Type B in my personal life. The upside is that it makes it easy to get along with just about everybody.

I broke up with my EX mainly because the relationship with my child and her was not the best, it sucks but I have to look out for my child, So far I am able to do the things I can do now. It is not the I am not Hoeing around but the simply fact that I can hang out with friends and go watch my son play baseball is a great feeling now. I feel at peace now, in somewhat of pain because of the breakup but I am at peace now.

I just learned I was parentified severely, especially emotionally. The discovery came from outside of therapy, but having a place every week to sit down, slow down & reflect def led to it. Being enmeshed with my parents like this was a cause for my anxiety, low self esteem and workaholic, people pleasing tendencies. My last therapist keeps coming up in my mind. I left her when I moved to a new area before COVID dug in and frankly it felt like leaving a girlfriend. She also disclosed in the final session that she was a member of AA and knew several of the people I occasionally discussed from the rooms. Her knowledge of the program certainly built trust with me early on, but it has been two years. I discussed it with my current therapist but she’s still in there. Any advice?

Hey all - 2 years in consulting so far as a fairly "type b" personality - relaxed, uncompetitive, enjoy socializing with my colleagues. To be clear, this is not the same as being lazy or irresponsible - I am diligent and do my work well.

Nonetheless I think we can generally say finance/professional services etc. reward "type a" habitudes on its face.
