Your compensation package lol
At Deloitte S&O, I've heard people getting rolled off their project and having to fly back to home office, 2 days later have the "connect with partner" meeting and are laid off effective immediately. Their severance is still paid over the 2 month period in which they don't work anhmore

2 months is better than 2 weeks, so there's that
Sadly but truth is - they can cancel you severance package
Don't they tell you what it is when they lay you off? It's not contingent on your performing at an exceptional level, right?

I have no idea, I was just under that impression. I don't know anyone who's been laid off
It's a 60 legal notice. But they can fire you immediately for bad performance/conduct

You don't get severance for being fired - you just get fired and that means they stop paying you.
If you get laid off you get no notice.
I'll take the 2 months severance and my PTO cashed out if that's what it comes to. Good to know. Thanks guys
'Maintaining the relationship' and 'leaving in good terms'. It's a small world and you'll never know when you will see/work those people again
The severance agreement says that you must transition your work and cooperate completely until your last day. If you choose not to then what was a layoff can become a termination for cause. And there's no compensation for that.
