If you send me a connection request, and I accept it, get to the point on your first message. If you want to recruit me for some crazy job, fine. If you want to sell me your product or services, fine. If you send me "Good to connect, how are you?", I'm not going to respond.

Good to connect, how are you?

likefunny

Agreed. These psychos are the same kind of people who hit you up on Slack or Teams saying, “Hey,” with nothing following it, until you to reply “Hey,” back. 🤦‍♂️

Seriously??? For the love all that’s holy, save us both some time and just ask the question you want immediately after the greeting.

likesmart

I just delay responding to those people until I literally have nothing else I can think of filling my time with. If your message is “hey” it can’t be important whatsoever.

I don’t understand the purpose of this post lol

likefunny

M1, lol

Applies to any message, really. If your IM message is simply “hi” then you won’t get a response from me, either.

what. do. you. want.

Haha haha😂😂😂

Thanks for connecting!

I like the "Hey, I wanted to connect because I thought you were hot" messages on LinkedIn lmao

I never accept unknown connection requests. Recruiters are free to send In-Mail. Otherwise they are sneaking into your connections by way of supposed known connection with me. Nuh uh, this homey don’t play that game 😉

People who don’t submit their time daily, how do you remember what you did and for how long? I’ve always just submitted each timer as soon as I finish a task—“call with x re y” really doesn’t take that long even if I’m busy, and if I don’t do it immediately I’ll forget all those little I did in the morning by the time I go to bed. No shade at all to those with different systems, just genuinely curious because I see a lot about catching up at month end on here and I have no idea how that works??

Home office preference question. I am getting ready to redo the layout of my home office. One option I'm considering would have my desk facing a wall. There really is such a direct correlation between cringey title and cringey posts.

Before LinkedIn...to me, the king of professional cringey was Shingy. Do you guys remember him? He was aol's overpaid "digital prophet" and got paid to visit companies at lunchtime and babble the same kind of nonsense we now call "LinkedIn cringe".

This one is going to make some of y’all mad, but it’s so annoyingly unnecessary. The most irritating part is “is it a shirt day or a skirt day”…. Like women don’t wear shirts with skirts and men don’t wear shirts with pants. Shirts and skirts are not mutually exclusive. I’ll just leave this here.
