Resort vacation in Thailand. Maybe read Hunger by Knut Hamsun, or The Beautiful and Damned by f Scott Fitzgerald. Maybe explore spirituality with a monk, and letting go of life's material pleasures like ping pong tables and milk.
Then enjoy some Pina colada smoothies together.
I brought a monk to one of my offsite once. People loved it
My husband and his team went to a Rage Room to smash and destroy things for fun and then dinner/drinks afterwards. He said everyone had a great time laughing, breaking things, and being able to forget about work. I’ve been dying to go to one and destroy a printer like I’m in “Office Space”. 😂
We had one at work last year and it was way to heavy on workshops and internal speakers and we had only a few opportunities to bond /get to know each other which was the really the reason we were all coming together in the first place.
So I’d start there. What’s the purpose of getting together? Do you have a more junior team and want to go through case studies/ skill building? Is your team mostly remote and this is an opportunity to meaningfully connect? Etc.
A great book that I just started reading is the Art of Gathering by Priya Parker. Loving it so far!! I’d highly recommend it!
It’ll be a mix of ‘get to know the full team from across the country’ and ‘let’s all learn and develop our skill sets’
It’s exciting cause we are all pitching ideas and seeing what rises—also, LOVE Priya Parker. I’ll get her book, I’ve loved her on podcasts!
Ice cream social, a big impressive speaker that energizes and inspires me, something goofy like a tarot card reader, a really nice over the top interesting dinner with the group at a place quiet enough that you can really talk and get to know each other, strategic templated presentations given by account or brand leaders with an opportunity for rest to contribute strategic thoughts on how to build business or be more effective or whatever the goal is. Also have it somewhere nice where people are happy to be like the W in Miami.
Escape room adventure
So interesting!
I mean it depends what the goal is. What’s the purpose of this?
Relationships/Employees <——>Agency Growth/Dev
I saw that you aim to get people across the country - how many? Is it all functions? How many days? Where are you hosting?
What does it entail? Relationship building, capability scoping, process review, agency development, department roles, new vision, enhanced service, client review / development, training opportunities, agency perception/satisfaction?
This alone would change how I’d respond or plan for a group / agency meet.
I agree—it’s a strategy gathering without a brief, we’re all right there with ya lol
I believe strat leadership will handle the bigger learning and agency alignment segments, they want from us interesting ideas to get to know others and teach more niche things if we have a desire.
